Best Jordan 1 Colorways

Best All-Round Jordan 1 Colorway – Air Jordan 1 Retro High “University Blue”

The “University Blue” applies a familiar colour scheme to the classic Jordan 1 blocking pattern which is why, we believe, it is one of the best Jordan 1 colourways so far.

The shoe combines the white base layer with light blue leather across the ankle, heel, toe, and outsole, which is then contrasted by the black across the Swoosh, laces, and collar.

You also get the usual Wings insignia on the ankle in black, with a university blue Nike Air logo stitched to the tongue to round off the design.

Ultimately, we feel the “University Blue” does a good job of updating the retro Jordan 1 style to the modern-day, making this sneaker a great option to consider if you’re after a pair of Jordan 1’s.

Best Jordan 1 High Colorway – Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “College Navy”

This Jordan 1 is based on the original “Georgetown” sample from 1985, hence the “College Navy” name

The design features the OG stance and shape, combining premium white leather with dark blue overlays.

Moreover, the laces and tongues come with a slight yellow tint. This appears to be a deliberate design detail to give these high-tops a more retro aesthetic.

All in all, we feel the “College Navy” is a simple yet effective design that accentuates the Jordan 1 high-top silhouette fans have grown to love.

Best Jordan 1 Low Colorway – Air Jordan 1 Low SE “USA”

We’ve previously featured the “USA” in our list of the best Jordan 1 lows, so it may come as no surprise we’re including it again thanks to its amazing colour palette.

As its name implies, this Jordan 1 low-top comes decked out in the infamous red, white, and blue colours of the American flag, with blue suede covering most of the upper.

In fact, this blocking is rarely used on Jordan 1’s which makes the “USA” unique and gives it a retro look that should suit most occasions.

Ultimately, if you’re after something colourful but refined, then we feel it’s hard to look past the “USA” low-top Jordan 1.

Best Budget Jordan 1 Colorway – Air Jordan 1 Mid “All-Star 2021”

The “All-Star 2021”, sometimes known as “Carbon Fiber”, looks to be a great all-round sneaker with an excellent design, hence why it features in our list of the best Jordan 1’s under 200.

The sneakers feature a white leather base layer that’s complemented with black patent leather panels, thus creating a stark contrast when paired with the matte white finish.

Moreover, the “All-Star 2021” comes with the modern-day Jumpman logo on the tongue, plus the classic Wings Jordan logo around the ankle, both finished in white.

In terms of comfort, the sneaker comes with soft cushioning in the midsole and perforations around the toe box, so should be a great pick to use both on the court or for everyday wear.

Best Jordan 1 Colorway For Everyday Wear – Air Jordan 1 Retro High ’85 “Neutral Grey”

Given the very minimalistic colour palette, we feel the “Neutral Grey” has endless styling potential, thus making it a great option to consider for everyday wear.

Crafted out of genuine leather, this design features a simple white upper and sole unit, with subtle hints of grey coming through from the Swoosh, collar, and Jordan branding.

In fact, the colourway is not too dissimilar to the highly popular Nike Air Force 1, except this sneaker rocks the high-top Jordan 1 silhouette.

On the whole, we feel the “Neutral Grey” would make for a great addition to anyone’s sneaker collection, and an even better pick to add to your rotation.

Best Jordan 1 Colorway Collaboration – Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT “Califia”

World-renowned stylist and model Aleali May teamed up with Jordan to release her third 1 with the brand, however, this time it’s part of the Zoom CMFT collection.

The “Califia” is said to draw inspiration from May’s high school and, as a result, features a green base layer with blue leather overlays.

The Jordan 1 is then varied slightly by adding the green sating Swoosh and collar, the yellow Air sole, and the cream chenille Wings logo on the ankle.

The overall design is certainly unique, which is often the case with collaborations, and, we think, it’s definitely one to consider to add to your collection.

Best Upcoming Jordan 1s

Despite being the first of its kind, Nike continues to produce variations of the Jordan 1’s to this day.

That said, here are some of our ones to watch over the coming months.

Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Green Python

Detailed images of the new Air Jordan 1 Mid SE “Green Python” have been revealed, which showcase the shoe’s snakeskin-like overlays with chiseled-out, Vivid green ‘scales’.

Under the ‘scaled’ overlays though, you get a white leather base layer to match the laces, soles, and interior linings.

Nike hasn’t announced a release date for these sneakers just yet; however, most reports predict their arrival at some point in 2022. Stay tuned right here for more updates.

Air Jordan 1 High OG Stealth

Jordan has opted for a simple and clean two-tone design for this “Stealth” release, with the colour blocking reminiscent of the Travis Scott x Fragment collaboration from 2021, now being applied to the upcoming “Heritage” colourway as well.

If you’re itching to get your hands on these white and grey sneakers, then keep an eye out for their arrival on 16 July 2022 at Nike.

Air Jordan 1 High OG Yellow Toe

Nike is debuting a new “Yellow Toe” Jordan 1 in 2022 with the same colour-blocking and high-top silhouette as the original 1985 release.

It’s currently being reported that these sneakers will debut in August 2022, but the exact date is currently unknown. Stay tuned to find out more right here.

Air Jordan 1 Chicago Reimagined

The legendary Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” is set to be re-released with a reimagined, vintage twist in 2022.

It’s currently rumoured that Nike will add several distressed details like pre-yellowed midsoles to the 2022 “Chicago” colourway to accurately portray what an OG 1985 pair might look like today.

It’s unclear exactly when these reimagined sneakers will be released at this moment in time; however, reports predict their arrival at some point this holiday season.

Air Jordan 1 High SP Utility

A ‘Utility’ tag attached to a pair of Jordan sneakers usually means they include a practical feature of some sort.

Under the usual Nike Swooshes, the Utility high-tops come equipped with handy storage pouches, which can be accessed via bright red pull tabs on either side.

A release date for these High SP Utility sneakers is currently unknown, but we’ll keep you updated once more information is announced right here.

Frequently Asked Questions About Air Jordan 1’s

With so many different styles of Jordan 1’s available, you may have a number of questions about them. Don’t worry though, because we’re here to clear up a few of the most common queries.

Are Air Jordan 1’s Comfortable?

We’ve previously discussed whether Jordan’s are comfortable, but we didn’t go into much detail regarding the 1.

Firstly, it’s worth mentioning all Jordan 1’s include Nike’s Air technology in the midsole which should provide you with a strong starting point for comfort.

Some, like the “Califia”, take this a step further by adding Zoom into the equation which, Nike boasts, makes its CMFT range an ultra-comfy variation of the 1.

However, one of the most important aspects of making sure your Jordan 1’s are comfortable though is to make sure you get the right fit.

We’d recommend leaving about a finger’s width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe as this will make sure your sneakers are bending in the correct place as it should align to the natural bend of your foot.

Do Air Jordan 1’s Run Big?

Generally speaking, Jordans should fit true to size for everyday use and for on the court action no matter what model you choose.

With that being said, you may find going a size up to be beneficial for playing in if you’ve got slightly wider feet as this should ensure your feet remain comfortable and supported, without feeling too tight and restrictive.

If you’re unsure, you can normally find a size chart on Nike’s website to give you extra peace of mind when purchasing your Jordan’s.

Can You Run In Jordan 1’s?

While it is perfectly possible to run in Jordan 1’s, we’d advise, for the most part, to select a pair of running shoes instead.

Firstly, Jordan 1’s are considerably heavier than running shoes which can have an adverse effect on your performance due to feeling weighed down.

Also, if you’re wearing high tops, the added ankle support may be restrictive as it’s primarily used to protect basketball players who utilise a lot of lateral movement which isn’t as necessary during running.

If you want to find out more, then check out our guide on whether Jordan’s can be used for running.

How Do You Lace Jordan 1’s?

One of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to Jordan sneakers is how do you lace Jordan 1’s?

The answer is one we’ve gone into more detail about in our guide right here; however, the simplest method is to begin by feeding the two ends of your shoelace underneath each of the first eyelets.

Then, begin to thread the laces from inside to out, making sure the aglets go over the top of the sneakers each time whilst crossing them in the centre.

Make sure you keep the laces flat as you go, and tighten along the way to remove any excess slack.
