As the summer months pass, it’s the stormy Autumn scene which hits Mexico, as Forza Horizon 5’s Series 6 weekly challenges continue to provide players with a host of rewards. And when new challenges arrive, we pop up with a little walkthrough, helping you nail the objectives in hand with little fuss and no bother.

Following on from Series 6 – Summer, the monthly Horizon Drift Club story is still in place, along with the usual Monthly Rivals time trial, this time around the Emerald Circuit. If you’re struggling with either of those (although they are very straightforward), check out last week’s piece

Going forward with Series 6 – Autumn though and there’s the chance to Level Up! Again in the newly revamped Horizon Open, take a few photos of the finest cars, double up in the Treasure Hunt and get involved in The Eliminator once more. Oh, the usual Trail Blazers, Drift Zones, EventLabs, and Championships are here too. Let’s crack on because we need to get earning enough points to take home the McLaren 765LT (20pts) and the Ferrari Enzo (40pts), this week.

Part 1 – Sports Car Supreme

The weekly car challenge this time around focuses on the car that took the classic British recipe for a small sports car, added Japanese reliability and went on to conquer the world. Oh, and gave hairdressers something to drive around in!

Yes, it’s the Mazda MX-5, as it’s known here, the Miata as it is in America, and the Eunos Roadster as it is in Japan. We need to drive the first series car, from 1994. A snip at only 25,000 credits from the Autoshow.

Chapter 1:  One Car, Three Names

Buy the car, get in it and drive. Simples!

Chapter 2: MX-5 Cup

Now we need to get under the bonnet and tune this thing. Take it to A Class 800, and then win three Road races with it. A little light fettling gave me this share code: 666061914.

With 315 BHP under its belt, and AWD and weight loss, this is a nimble little car. Take your pick as to which sort of race you want to win, be it a circuit or point to point race. As long as it is a Road Race (filter the map to make your choice easier) then you are golden.

Chapter 3: Freshen Up

The next step is pretty straight forward, just paint the body of your car. One quick trip to the paint booth and voila, step complete

!If you haven’t done this before, go to a Festival site, then into your garage. Select Designs and Paint from the menu, then Paint Car, and let your imagination run wild.

Chapter 4: Suited and Booted

Now simply take a picture of your freshly painted car to complete the weekly challenge!

Part 2 – Weekly Challenges

For Series 6 – Autumn, we find just the one racing championship and the Trial in place. However, there are also a couple of Eventlab events, a Speed Zone, Drift Zone and Trail Blazer to crack on with.

Eventlab 1 – JamesMiata Presents Bounce House V2

Another week, another Eventlab event to complete. This time we have to get in a Super Hot Hatch tuned to a maximum of B Class 700, and complete an obstacle course, effectively.

I used a Ford Focus Rs, and the share code is: 111915343.

The prize for completing this course? A Builders helmet. Soon all your Village People dreams will be coming true…

Eventlab 2 – TapperZ87 Presents Pinata Power!V1

This is another B Class 700 event, but this time the rules are anything goes. So, obviously, being a bit of a cheapskate, I used the same Focus RS again I used in the previous event.

This is a sprint race, so basically drive about, smash some pinatas and beat the competition. Stay away from the Cactus Pinatas as they will cause your car to lose power, while the Pump Pinatas will make your power increase.

The reward? A Ford Fiesta XR2 from 1981, back in the days of proper fast Fords. Better than a stupid hat, no?

Speed Zone – Punta Allen

This could be interesting.

We have to take a retro supercar, tune it to S1 Class 900, then blast through this speed zone at an average speed of 140 mph. So, thinking of retro supercars, there’s only one name that stands out, and that’s Lamborghini, isn’t it? And what could be better than a Diablo SV? My share code is: 125472672.

This monstered the speed zone at over 145mph, eventually, as there are a couple of really nasty corners to contend with. The key seems to be cutting them to just the right degree.

A Super Wheelspin will be heading your way if you can string a few nice bends together.

Trail Blazer – Granjas

For this Trailblazer, we need a Hot Hatch car tuned up to B Class 700, and we need to complete it with 18 seconds left on the clock. I went with a Renault Clio R.S. 200 EDC from 2013, and the share code is: 262870774.

Hit the start gate at quite a shallow angle, as the end point is further to the left than you’d think.

Completing this seasonal objective will again grant us another Super Wheelspin. Maybe some dungarees to go with the Builder’s Helmet?

Drift Zone – East Coast

A drift zone, my favourite sort of challenge, and this time the challenge is to take a Modern Muscle car, tune it up to A Class 800, and then score 130,000 points on the Drift Zone.

I went with a Ford Shelby GT500 from 2013, and even in stock trim was able to nail 135,000 drift points through the zone. Not spending any extra money is a win in my book.

Another Super Wheelspin is your reward for getting your slide on.

Seasonal Championship – Creative Spark

The lone entry in the racing calendar this week (except the Trial, but more on that in a minute) sees us tasked with pedaling a Cult Car, up to a maximum of D Class 500, to victory against highly skilled Driverbots.

This is quite a narrow category, and so I chose a Datsun 510, the actual car that I had my first ever driving lesson in.

The share code for my heap, with its unbelievable 0-60 time of 10 seconds, is : 161701898

At least we win a Lotus Elise ‘99 for the trouble. And if there is a crash, the cars move so slowly you have time to get into the back seat and duck down.

The Trial – Artistic Impression

Unbeatable Driverbots and random team mates from the interwebs? Talk about a marriage made in heaven. This time, the challenge is to drive a C Class 600 car of whatever flavour takes your fancy. The races are on road, but despite this I chose a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor to compete in, and won on the first try.

This despite an “ally” causing me to crash by putting me into a wall, then crashing himself and letting all the Driverbots go streaming past on the last lap. This cost us the second race. Please, don’t be that guy!

The share code for my Raptor was: 139383916

Winning will reward us with a Ford GT ‘05, which is nice!

Part 3 – Other Challenges

Autumn of Series 6 includes a number of other challenges – a Photo Challenge, a Treasure Hunt, some time in The Eliminator and the chance to compete in Horizon Open events.

Photo Challenge – #FLYTHECOUPE

Take a photo of the BMW M2 Coupe 2016 in front of the Raul Urias Mural in Colinas Aridas. Simple, right?

Well, I’ll put a map to show where the mural is, and the car will cost you a mere 69,000 credits to buy. It’s got to be worth it for a t-shirt, right? A relaxed fit t-shirt, no less?

Treasure Hunt – Double Up

The clue this week reads “Special offer! Buy a new upgrade and get 200 miniature painter hats for your Gremlins!”

The picture that accompanies the clue shows a Gremlin car, so maybe we need to upgrade one? The AMC Gremlin X from 1973, to be precise. So what does the 200 miniature painter hats refer to? Well, 200 mph of course, so we need to get our Gremlin able to do 200mph.

I have tuned one up to this speed, and the share code is: 304146714. Take it to the highway and unleash the beast.

After hitting the target speed, the treasure chest is in a tunnel in Guanajuato, have a mooch about and you should find it. Location on the map is included.

The reward for all this? A Painter Hoodie. Just what I hope for in a treasure chest, eh?

Horizon Open – Just Getting Started and Choices, Choices

Again, these are impossible to recommend you a car for, as they are pretty arbitrary.

The challenges are to gain three levels in Open racing this week, and also to complete a custom Dirt race in the playlist.

Doing so will reward you with a Police Siren horn and a Subaru WRX ‘15 respectively, so worth having a crack at.

By following this little guide to the Weekly Challenges in Forza Horizon 5 – Series 6 – Autumn, you should be found racking up the rewards and points. Not only will you have enough for that McLaren and the Enzo, but you should now also have enough to take home the Honda NSX-R GT for 80pts that is available throughout the Series. You’ll be well on the way to enough for they #2 Ford GT40 too (160pts). Come back for Series 6 – Winter guides in a week and that should be in your garage too. o complete. Well, that’s the hope, anyway!

To play Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC, you’ll need to visit the Xbox Store. It’s freely downloadable through Game Pass.
